The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Anadolu Efes (15-2) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Besiktas (8-9) 104-98. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. Besiktas made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. American Shaquielle McKissic (196-90, college: ASU) stepped up and scored 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and German guard Ismet Akpinar (193-95, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). French Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 29 points and Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Besiktas maintains eighth place with 8-9 record, which they share with Turk Telekom. Defending champion Anadolu Efes still keeps top position with two games lost. Besiktas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Galatasaray.
