The game between closely ranked teams ended with Steaua B.'s (6-9) road loss to Sibiu (10-5) 75-95 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Sibiu. Steaua B. was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Steaua B. 44-26 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sibiu looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Steaua B.'s players. American-German forward Isaiah Philmore (203-89, college: Xavier) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American power forward Chris Cooper (205-90, college: ODU) chipped in 9 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side Serbian point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (185-96, agency: BeoExcell) responded with 20 points and American forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: UCF) scored 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sibiu will face Cluj Napoca on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
