Regular Season Round 16: V.Rytas - Kretingos SM 77-64

Very expected game when 7th ranked Kretingos SM (6-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Vilniaus Silputa (12-1) 77-64 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Vilniaus Silputa. Kretingos SM managed to win third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vilniaus Silputa looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Aras Valenta (181-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 assists and Kruminis Augustinas (-2) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Vilniaus Silputa players scored in double figures. At the losing side Rokas Zilinskis (-2) responded with 30 points and forward Tadas Budrys (198-2) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Vilniaus Silputa have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-1 record having five points less than leader V.Knasiaus KM. Loser Kretingos SM keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Vilniaus KM II. Vilniaus Silputa will meet Marijampoles (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kretingos SM will play against Vilniaus KM II (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
