Second Stage Round 3: Alexandria - Oradea 86-36

The game with biggest result difference took place in Alexandria. Local Alexandria (3-10) outscored Oradea (0-12) 86-36. The game without a history. Alexandria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oradea to just 4 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. Alexandria held Oradea to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Alexandria forced 33 Oradea turnovers and outrebounded them 55-26 including a 27-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Oradea's players. It was a quality performance for American guard Shannon Powell (168, college: USF) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Her fellow American import forward Briana Gray (178, college: Weber St.) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Montenegrin center Teodora Saric (190-98) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ruxandra Chis (176-93) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Oradea in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alexandria's next round opponent will be again Oradea (#13) on the road.
