Regular Season Round 18: Vaerlose - Horsholm 66-94

Dameligaen top team - Horsholm (15-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Vaerlose (5-10) 94-66. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Vaerlose managed to win third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsholm dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 22 and made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Vaerlose only scored eight points from the stripe. Horsholm forced 24 Vaerlose turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) notched 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and American guard Sidney Rielly (183-95, college: Portland St.) supported her with 21 points. Even 9 points and 9 rebounds by international swingman Frida Formann (179-1) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Guard Sofie Hauge (175-0) added 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Horsholm have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-0 record. Loser Vaerlose keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Horsholm will meet at home Herlev (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
