Regular Season Round 18: Kaiserslautern - Crailsheim 2 84-79

There was an upset when higher ranked Crailsheim 2 (9-9) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Kaiserslautern (7-11) 84-79 on Saturday. Kaiserslautern looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Crailsheim 2 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman Aaron Reams (192-91) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 6 rebounds. Hungarian guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Crailsheim 2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crailsheim 2's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kaiserslautern moved-up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with Giessen and Mannheim. Crailsheim 2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Kaiserslautern will face Giessen Pointers (#10) on the road in the next round. Crailsheim 2 will play against Kronberg (#14) and hope to win that game.
