The game between closely ranked teams ended with Targu Jiu's (5-10) home victory over Miercurea Ciuc (3-12) 85-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 48-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Targu Jiu dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Miercurea Ciuc's 26. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Jovan Djurasevic (194-94) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Alin Andries (196-91) chipped in 18 points. Five Targu Jiu players scored in double figures. Mali-Canadian guard Mambi Diawara (194-94, college: Calgary) produced 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian forward Cassidy Ryan (201-95, college: Brock) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Miercurea Ciuc's coach Laszlofy Botond rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
