There was a surprise result in Frankfurt where tenth ranked Fraport Skyliners II (8-10) outscored higher ranked Giessen 46ers 2 (10-8) 104-82 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II shot 62.1 percent from the field. Fraport Skyliners II outrebounded Giessen 46ers 2 34-22 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Giessen 46ers 2's players. Point guard Len Schoormann (193-2) scored 19 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Aaron Kayser (205-99) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. Five Fraport Skyliners II players scored in double figures. Fraport Skyliners II's coach Miran Cumurija felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) with 29 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Wyatt Lohaus (188-95, college: N.Iowa) scored 22 points. Fraport Skyliners II moved-up to eighth place in South. Loser Giessen 46ers 2 keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face higher ranked Baunach (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Giessen 46ers 2 will play against Bayern 2 in Muenchen and hope to win that game.
