Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Mersin Uni (8-12) won against at home 13th ranked Fenerbahce G. (6-12) 67-61 on Saturday. Mersin Uni looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quite impressive performance for American forward Dekeiya Cohen (188-96, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Feride Akalan (180-1) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and Banu Simsek (187-2) added 17 points in the effort for Fenerbahce G.Mersin Uni moved-up to tenth place. Fenerbahce G. lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Mersin Uni will face bottom-ranked Urla BLD (#16) in Izmir in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fenerbahce G. will play at home against Bursa BSB and hope to win that game.
