Very important is a road loss of third ranked Science City Jena (13-8) against fifteenth ranked Artland Dragons (7-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Science City Jena was defeated by Artland Dragons in Quakenbrueck 77-66. Artland Dragons outrebounded Science City Jena 44-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Robert Oehle (209-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Malik Dunbar (198-96, college: Auburn) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Naturalized American point guard Brad Loesing (182-89, college: Wofford) responded with 14 points and American forward Justin Leon (203-95, college: Florida) scored 12 points. Artland Dragons moved-up to fourteenth place. Science City Jena at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Artland Dragons will play against higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Science City Jena will play against Rostock (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
