Very predictable result in Hamburg where third ranked Piraten (7-3) defeated bottom-ranked Essen Ruhr (0-10) 81-72 on Saturday. Piraten forced 22 Essen Ruhr turnovers. Naturalized Icelandic guard Leif Moeller (190-3) scored 20 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Alonzo Bakija (196-2) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Piraten players scored in double figures. Piraten's coach Torben Haase used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Ben Boether (193-3) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Valentin Bredeck (185-1) scored 15 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field).
