Regular Season Round 18: Darussafaka - ITU BB 88-74

Date: February 1, 2020
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Istanbul: Darussafaka (#6) and ITU BB (#16). Darussafaka (11-7) won against visiting ITU BB (1-17) 88-74. They outrebounded ITU BB 40-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. Darussafaka players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by ITU BB's players. Hungarian-American power forward Jarrod Jones (207-90, college: Ball St.) notched 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Panamanian guard Doron Lamb (193-91, college: Kentucky) supported him with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 18 points and 5 assists by American guard Matt Mobley (190-94, college: St.Bonaventure) did not help to save the game for ITU BB. His fellow American import guard Archie Goodwin (196-94, college: Kentucky, agency: Inception Sports) added 15 points. Five ITU BB players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 11-7 record. ITU BB lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Darussafaka's next round opponent will be Gaziantep (#10) on the road. ITU BB will play against the league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka (#2) and hope to win that game.
