ProA round 23 most important game was a victory of MLP Academics Heidelberg over 8th ranked Uni Baskets 96-94 on Saturday night. MLP Academics Heidelberg forced 20 Uni Baskets turnovers. American players dominated the game. Point guard Zamal Nixon (186-89, college: Houston) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 assists and 5 steals. Guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: WSU) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Demetrius Ward (188-90, college: W.Michigan) answered with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kendale McCullum (185-96, college: Lewis) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Uni Baskets. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Uni Baskets' coach Steven Esterkamp rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MLP Academics Heidelberg maintains seventh place with 12-10 record. Uni Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg are looking forward to face Artland Dragons (#14) in Quakenbrueck in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Uni Baskets will have a break next round.
