We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Cluj Napoca (13-3) was defeated at home by Sibiu (11-5) 98-90 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-90. Sibiu outrebounded Cluj Napoca 40-29 including 25 on the defensive glass. Cluj Napoca was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan Chatman (196-93, college: Boston Coll.) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. American-German forward Isaiah Philmore (203-89, college: Xavier) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) produced 17 points and Lithuanian forward Donatas Tarolis (203-94) added 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Five Sibiu and four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Cluj Napoca's coach Dusko Vujosevic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sibiu will face CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#6) at home in the next round. Cluj Napoca will play against Timisoara (#5) and hope to win that game.
