Regular Season Round 24: Novomoskovsk - Niko-Basket 66-103

Very expected game when 7th ranked Novomoskovsk (4-16) was smashed by second ranked Niko-Basket (16-4) in Dnipro 103-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Niko-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Novomoskovsk's players. It was a good game for point guard Mark Bodnar (185-98) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 4 assists. Swingman Maksym Ozhegov (190-90) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Niko-Basket's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Andriy Kobets (191-93) replied with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Alexander Shashkov (185-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Novomoskovsk. Five Niko-Basket and four Novomoskovsk players scored in double figures. Niko-Basket have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-4 record having 2 victories less than leader KDPU, which they share with Rivne. Newly promoted Novomoskovsk keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. Niko-Basket will face SumDU (#3) in Sumy in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Novomoskovsk will play at home against Mariupol (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
