Regular Season Round 18: Ibbenbueren - Leverkusen 2 61-46

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Ibbenbueren (13-7) defeated at home 9th ranked Leverkusen 2 (9-10) 61-46 on Saturday. Ibbenbueren dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Leverkusen 2's 20. Ibbenbueren forced 24 Leverkusen 2 turnovers. Leverkusen 2 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Bryce Leavitt (194-94, college: Seattle Pacific) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valpo) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-99) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Soren Queck (186-98) added 8 points in the effort for Leverkusen 2. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ibbenbueren maintains fourth position in West with 13-7 record. Leverkusen 2 lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Ibbenbueren will face BSV Wulfen (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Leverkusen 2 will play against the league's second-placed Herford and hope to win that game.
