Regular Season Round 18: Amager - SISU 92-68

Date: February 1, 2020
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Amager (13-2) crushed 6th ranked SISU (3-12) in Kastrup 92-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Amager. SISU managed to win third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SISU 64-30 including a 31-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Amager looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international forward Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Ruth Sherrill (183-94, college: Temple) supported her with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Even 11 points, 5 assists and 4 steals by guard Asta Blauenfeldt (169-2) did not help to save the game for SISU. Forward Josefine Haabegaard (182-99) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Amager have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Horsholm. SISU lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Amager will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SISU will play against Vaerlose (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
