Regular Season Round 20: Piraten - Tirol 84-60
Date: February 1, 2020
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Worthersee Piraten (11-9) rolled over 11th ranked Raiders Tirol (5-15) in Klagenfurt 84-60. The game was mostly controlled by Worthersee Piraten. Raiders Tirol was better in second period 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian point guard Ziga Erculj (182-86) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 4 steals and Slovenian guard Tevz Ruzic (193-95) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Worthersee Piraten players scored in double figures. Vincentian-Trinidad and Tobago power forward John Gardiner (206-83, college: SHSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Senegalese center Mansata Cisse (207-95) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Worthersee Piraten maintains sixth position with 11-9 record. Newly promoted Raiders Tirol keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Worthersee Piraten will play against KOS (#10) in Celovec in the next round. Raiders Tirol will play at home against the league's leader Rocks and hopes to get back on the winning track.
