Regular Season Round 18: Saarlouis/Dillingen - Tuebingen 2 78-77

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Tuebingen 2 (6-11) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (9-9) 78-77 on Sunday. Saarlouis/Dillingen made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) who saved his team from a defeat with 30 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Guard Nii Bergmann (188-98) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Nico Hihn replied with 25 points and Matti Sorgius (196-1) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tuebingen 2. Four Tuebingen 2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Saarlouis/Dillingen moved-up to fifth place in South-West, which they share with Crailsheim 2 and Idstein. Loser Tuebingen 2 dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face higher ranked TV Langen (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tuebingen 2 will play against Stuttgart (#9) and hope to win that game.
