Regular Season Round 24: Schalke - Kirchheim 70-80

Very expected game when 16th ranked Schalke (7-16) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Kirchheim Knights (11-12) 80-70 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jalan McCloud (180-95, college: ETSU) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. Center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) chipped in 18 points. Four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Adam Touray (208-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Johannes Joos (206-95) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to ninth place. Loser Schalke dropped to the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Karlsruhe PS. Kirchheim Knights will meet at home higher ranked Nuernberg (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Schalke will play against the league's second-placed Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
