We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Phoenix Constanta (7-5) lost to tenth ranked Agronomia (7-5) in Bucurest 66-71. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Phoenix Constanta won third quarter 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin Tijana Ninkovic (176-1) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds and American center Jordan Hawkins (188-97, college: Assumption) who added 10 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Boogie Brozoski (168-97, college: Hofstra) responded with 28 points (made all of her eight free throws) and Serbian center Vladinka Erak (190-84) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Agronomia moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Phoenix Constanta. Agronomia will play against Alexandria (#12) on the road in the next round. Phoenix Constanta will play against Targu Secuiesc and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
