Rather expected game when Galati (0-3) lost on the road to Voluntari (2-1) 82-77 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Galati won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Voluntari made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 4 assists. Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (202-89, college: URI, agency: BeoExcell) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. American forward Jacoby Armstrong (201-95, college: UNH) came up with 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and British center Chris Tawiah (207-93, college: Wiley) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Galati in the defeat. Galati's coach Eugen Ilie rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Voluntari will meet Craiova on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galati will play against Focsani (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
