There was no surprise when 15th ranked Lions (7-16) were defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (10-13) 82-75 on Wednesday. BV Villingen-Schwenningen made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for BV Villingen-Schwenningen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Drew Brandon (193-92, college: EWU) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Jaren Lewis (198-96, college: Abil.Christian) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Daniel Norl (188-95, college: Omaha) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) added 15 points respectively. Five Lions players scored in double figures. BV Villingen-Schwenningen moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Rostock. Loser Lions keep the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Schalke. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will meet bottom-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) in the next round where they are favorite. Lions will play against Science City Jena where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
