Regular Season Round 19: Horsholm - Herlev 59-72

Date: February 5, 2020
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Horsholm (15-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Herlev (9-8) 72-59. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Horsholm. Herlev dominated on the defensive end, holding Horsholm to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 19 Horsholm turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Laura Ziegler (184-2) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. International power forward Katrine Jessen (188-1) helped adding 6 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Herlev players scored in double figures. At the losing side international swingman Anne Pedersen (185-92, college: LSU) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Alyssa Rader (188-97, college: S.Florida) scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. Horsholm's coach Jesper Rasmussen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Herlev have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-8 record having five points less than leader Horsholm. Horsholm at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Herlev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Horsholm will play on the road against SISU in Copenhagen and is hoping to win this game.
