Regular Season Round 13: Prometey - Khimik 87-76

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kamianske. Second ranked host Prometey (15-6) defeated 4th placed Khimik (12-9) 87-76. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 47-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Prometey looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and the former international guard Denys Lukashov (197-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 12 points and 13 assists. Prometey's coach Karlis Muiznieks used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Isaiah Williams (188-95, college: Georgia St.) responded with 17 points and 8 assists and the other American import forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Prometey and four Khimik players scored in double figures. Prometey have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Prometey maintains second place with 15-6 record having just one point less than leader Dnipro. Khimik lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Prometey are looking forward to face Cherkasy (#5) on the road in the next round. Khimik will play against Mykolaiv and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
