Regular Season Round 25: Art.Dragons - Bayer Giants 84-83

The most exciting game of round 25 in the ProA took place in Quakenbrueck. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Bayer Giants (12-11) to fourteenth ranked Artland Dragons (8-15) 84-83 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Artland Dragons made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) fired 32 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Colter Lasher (201-94, college: Houston Baptist) produced 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Nick Hornsby (201-95, college: Sacramento St.) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. Bayer Giants' coach Hansi Gnad tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons maintains fourteenth place with 8-15 record. Bayer Giants lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Artland Dragons are looking forward to face higher ranked Walter Tigers (#13) in Tuebingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bayer Giants will play at home against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#17) and are hoping to win this game.
