The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Targu Secuiesc (9-1) on the court of ninth ranked Phoenix Constanta on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Phoenix Constanta 72-47. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Targu Secuiesc. The game without a history. Phoenix Constanta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Targu Secuiesc to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Targu Secuiesc 44-27 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Phoenix Constanta looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Serbian center Vladinka Erak (190-84) stepped up and scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Boogie Brozoski (168-97, college: Hofstra) chipped in 29 points and 4 assists. Phoenix Constanta's coach Predrag Stanojcic felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jade Vega (165-97, college: CS Fullerton) responded with 22 points and 6 steals and the other American import forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Phoenix Constanta maintains ninth place with 8-5 record. Targu Secuiesc at the other side keeps the seventh position with one game lost. Phoenix Constanta are looking forward to face Rapid Bucuresti (#11) at home in the next round. Targu Secuiesc will play against Alexandria (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
