Very expected game when 9th ranked Konyaspor (9-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Fethiye (14-4) 88-77 on Saturday. Fethiye made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) who scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Dogukan Sonmez (206-92) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Fethiye's coach Alkim Ay used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Tufan Onen (202-89) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Mitchell Wilbekin (188-94, college: Wake Forest) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fethiye keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Petkim. Loser Konyaspor dropped to the tenth place with nine games lost. Fethiye will face Balikesir (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Konyaspor will play against Ankara B. and hope to win that game.
