Regular Season Round 21: Tirol - Rocks 71-96

2.Bundesliga top team - Rocks (17-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Raiders Tirol (5-16) in Innsbruck 96-71. The game without a history. Rocks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rocks outrebounded Raiders Tirol 53-32 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Raiders Tirol was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Claudio Vancura (179-92) accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Rocks players scored in double figures. Slovakian Roman Skvasik (193-96) came up with 19 points and Senegalese center Mansata Cisse (207-95) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Raiders Tirol in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rocks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-4 record. Raiders Tirol lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Rocks will play against Worthersee Piraten (#6) in Klagenfurt in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Raiders Tirol will play on the road against Mustangs (#5) in Mistelbach and hopes to get back on the winning track.
