There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Baunach (9-9) was outplayed at home by eighth ranked Fraport Skyliners II (9-10) 93-70 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II had a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. Fraport Skyliners II looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) fired 32 points for the winners. Center Cosmo Gruehn (204-98) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Pruitt is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Fraport Skyliners II players scored in double figures. Point guard Marvin Heckel (190-97) produced 18 points and Austrian center Daniel Koeppel (211-0) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fraport Skyliners II. They moved-up to seventh place in South. Baunach lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face Oberhaching (#11) in Deisenhofen in the next round.
