Regular Season Round 19: Crailsheim 2 - Kronberg 78-82

There was an upset when higher ranked Crailsheim 2 (9-10) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Kronberg (6-13) 82-78 on Saturday. Kronberg made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Crailsheim 2 turnovers. Strangely Crailsheim 2 outrebounded Kronberg 43-30 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Tim Steiner (186-92) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American point guard Kewan Beebe (183-93, college: Geneseo St.) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian point guard Aleksa Kovacevic (190-2) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Crailsheim 2. Five Crailsheim 2 players scored in double figures. Crailsheim 2's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kronberg maintains fourteenth place in South-West with 6-13 record. Crailsheim 2 lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Kronberg will face higher ranked Giessen Pointers (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Crailsheim 2 will play against the league's second-placed Koblenz (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
