Second Stage Round 4: Academic PL - NSA 69-72

NSA's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after one consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Plovdiv, where they edged Academic PL (0-2) 72-69 on Saturday. NSA forced 22 Academic PL turnovers. Strangely Academic PL outrebounded NSA 56-32 including a 27-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Mihaela Kashanova (173-0) who scored that evening 21 points and swingman Maria Gencheva (185-99) supported her with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four NSA players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points and 24 rebounds by the former international forward Anna Rimpova (183-82) did not help to save the game for Academic PL. Point guard Zlatka Kyoseva (170-0) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Academic PL's coach Kiril Stoyanov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. NSA (1-1) left bottom position moving up to seventh place in Places 5-9. Loser Academic PL still closes the standings with two games lost. NSA will meet at home Cherno More (#8) in the next round. Academic PL will play against Septemvri 97 in Sofia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
