Very predictable result when fifth ranked Hannover (10-7) defeated at home 10th ranked Gisa Lions (4-12) 78-65 on Sunday. Hannover forced 22 Gisa Lions turnovers. The best player for the winners was Slovenian center Teja Gorsic (187-99, agency: LBM Management) who scored 16 points. Dutch center Marleen Peek (196-0, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) chipped in 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American power forward Jordan Korinek (189-96, college: Kent St.) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Montenegrin guard Snezana Aleksic (173-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hannover maintains fifth place with 10-7 record. Newly promoted Gisa Lions dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Hannover will meet BasCats Heidelberg (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gisa Lions will play against Goettingen and hope to secure a win.
