Regular Season Round 25: Rostock - Tuebingen 66-62

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Rostock (11-13) defeated at home 10th ranked Walter Tigers (10-13) 66-62 on Sunday. American guard Zach Lofton (193-92, college: N.Mexico St.) stepped up and scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Johnathan Jordan (178-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Slash Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Philipp Neumann (209-92) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rostock moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Schwenningen. Loser Walter Tigers dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Rostock will meet league's leader Chemnitz on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Walter Tigers will play against Artland Dragons (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
