Very important is a home loss of second ranked Leverkusen (8-3) against fifth ranked Jena (6-5) on Sunday night. Host Leverkusen was crushed by Jena in Leverkusen 96-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leverkusen. Jena players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian point guard Vuk Radojicic (185-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Lorenz Bank (187-1) helped adding 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Jena players scored in double figures. Point guard Henk Droste (195-1) responded with 18 points and 6 steals and Thomas Fankhauser (202-1) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jena have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place in A North, which they share with Rostock S.J. Leverkusen at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Jena will play against Rostock S.J. (#4) at home in the next round. Leverkusen will play against Essen Ruhr and hopes to get back on the winning track.
