Fourteenth-ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (5-13) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (12-6) in Frankfurt. The visitors from Crailsheim managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: GCU) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. At the losing side Shaquille Hines (203-93, college: UTRGV) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to fourth place. Deutsche Bank Skyliners lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Braunschweig (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and hope to get back on the winning track.
