Leader Zalgiris delivered the twentieth win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Nevezis (6-16) 92-63 in Kedainiai. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Nevezis managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Zalgiris forced 19 Nevezis turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was international Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Rokas Jokubaitis (192-0) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Greek point guard Georgios Kalaitzakis (202-99) produced 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Greek swingman Panagiotis Kalaitzakis (197-99) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-2 record. Nevezis lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Siauliai and P.Zvaigzdes. Zalgiris are looking forward to face Prienai CBet (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Nevezis will play against Siauliai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
