A very interesting game took place in Traiskirchen. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of UBSC Graz (4-14) to Arkadia Lions (4-16) 95-93 on Sunday evening. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was a great shooting night for Arkadia Lions especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by UBSC Graz's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Quadir Welton (203-95, college: St.Peter's) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: NC Central) chipped in 26 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sam Daniel (203-96, college: Florida Tech) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Lithuanian center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Arkadia Lions and five UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions' next round opponent will be Timberwolves (#10) in Vienna.
