Regular Season Round 18: Hatay - Fenerbahce 60-101

KBSL top team - Fenerbahce (16-1) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Hatay (6-11) 101-60. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hatay's 28. They outrebounded Hatay 44-16 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Fenerbahce especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hatay's players. It was a good game for international center Kiah Stokes (191-93, college: UConn) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce's coach Victor Lapena felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Belgian point guard Hind Ben-Abdelkader (172-95, college: California) replied with 23 points and international guard Asena Yalcin (170-91) added 11 points and 7 assists in the effort for Hatay. Fenerbahce have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-1 record. Hatay lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face Cukurova (#10) in Mersin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hatay will play on the road against Cankaya in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
