Regular Season Round 20: MBC - Vechta 88-87

Bottom-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC managed to get a third victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak. This time they edged sixth-ranked SC Rasta Vechta in Weissenfels 88-87. Mitteldeutscher BC players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The winners were led by Serbian Strahinja Micovic (205-92, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and naturalized Polish swingman David Brembly (197-93) supported him with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach Bjoern Harmsen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Ishmail Wainright (196-94, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for SC Rasta Vechta. His fellow American import swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: UNCG, agency: 3Eye) added 26 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mitteldeutscher BC maintains seventeenth position with 3-16 record. SC Rasta Vechta at the other side keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Brose Bask.. Mitteldeutscher BC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SC Rasta Vechta will play at home against Giessen 46ers (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
