Regular Season Round 19: Bakken - Randers 127-89

Top ranked Randers (17-4) recorded its fourth loss in Risskov on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by second ranked Bakken (16-3) 127-89. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Randers. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Randers managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bakken looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Randers' players. American guard David Efianayi (188-95, college: Gardner-Webb) fired 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Morten Sahlertz (198-89) chipped in 22 points. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. American forward Brantley Bynum (196-94, college: San Francisco St.) produced 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and naturalized Australian guard Rasmus Bach (193-95, college: Fort Lewis) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-3 record having just six point less than leader Randers. Randers at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Bakken are looking forward to face Svendborg (#4) at home in the next round. Randers will have a break next round.
