Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Duzce Belediye (5-14) lost at home to ninth ranked Mamak (11-8) 82-74 on Friday. Mamak made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 4 steals. Lithuanian point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (188-91, agency: Players Group) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Mamak players scored in double figures. Mamak's coach Murat Dikmen used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Gokturk Ural (196-95) came up with 21 points and 5 assists and American forward Jacquil Taylor (208-95, college: Hofstra) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Duzce Belediye in the defeat. Mamak moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Duzce Belediye dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Mamak will meet at home higher ranked Merkezefendi (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Duzce Belediye will play against Bandirma BK (#5) in Balikesir and hope to secure a win.
