Regular Season Round 19: Dragon Force - Academica 66-56

There was an upset when 4th placed Academica (11-8) lost to ninth ranked Dragon Force (9-9) in Porto 56-66 on Saturday. Dragon Force outrebounded Academica 40-26 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Miguel Correia who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 assists. Center Daniel Relvao (208-96, college: GMU, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. American guard Malcolm Richardson (185-94, college: Florida St. Jkv CC) answered with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Ryan Ogden (193, college: Southwestern, TX) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Academica. Academica's coach Ivo Rego rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragon Force moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sanjoanense. Loser Academica keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Dragon Force will face league's second-placed Povoa at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Academica will play against Academia and hope to win that game.
