There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Ovarense (8-12) beat at home higher ranked CAB Madeira (8-12) 91-73 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Pedro Oliveira (180-0) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 assists and American-Jamaican power forward Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico) who added 20 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. American guard George Beamon (193-91, college: Manhattan) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Justin Alston (203-94, college: Boston U.) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ovarense have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with CAB Madeira and Lusitania. Ovarense will meet Maia Basket (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. CAB Madeira will play against Oliveirense (#4) and hope to secure a win.
