Regular Season Round 20: Duesseldorf - Itzehoe 78-63

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Itzehoe (14-6) on the court of twelfth ranked Duesseldorf on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Duesseldorf 78-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Itzehoe. They outrebounded Itzehoe 39-28 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Duesseldorf looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 assists. Guard Faton Jetullahi (188-94) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Chris Hooper (198-91, college: St.Francis, NY) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and center Stefan Schmidt (207-89) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Itzehoe. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Duesseldorf (6-14) moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with Iserlohn. Itzehoe at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Duesseldorf is looking forward to face higher ranked Titans (#8) in Dresden in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Itzehoe will play at home against SparkassenStars (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
