Regular Season Round 13: Dynamo-NPU - Chaika 85-32

The game between second ranked Dynamo-NPU (8-6) and 5th ranked Chaika (3-13) in Kyiv on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Dynamo-NPU outscored guests from Berdiansk 85-32. The game without a history. Dynamo-NPU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Chaika to just 6 points in first and third quarters. Dynamo-NPU held Chaika to an opponent 19.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Dynamo-NPU forced 21 Chaika turnovers and had a 33-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Dynamo-NPU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Chaika's players. It was a very good performance for American guard Ashley Morrissette (175-95, college: Purdue) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Her fellow American import guard Allazia Blockton (183, college: Marquette) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Dynamo-NPU players scored in double figures. Point guard Olena Popova (170-1) answered with 10 points and 5 assists and power forward Valeriia Desiatnyk (187-0) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chaika. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-6 record having ten points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Chaika lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Dynamo-NPU will face Frankivsk (#5) in Ivano-Frankivsk in the next round. Chaika will play on the road against the league's leader Kyiv Basket and hope to win that game.
