Regular Season Round 18: AD Vagos - Carnide 67-40

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked AD Vagos (9-8) smashed at home 10th ranked Carnide (5-13) 67-40 on Saturday. AD Vagos forced 19 Carnide turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Bianca Cuevas-Moore (168, college: S.Carolina) who scored 22 points and 4 steals. International center Susana Carvalheira (187-99) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Cape Verdean center Djenifer Monteiro (192-91) who recorded 8 points and 12 rebounds and Luxembourg forward Jalila RBiaa (176-94) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AD Vagos maintains sixth position with 9-8 record. Carnide lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Ovarense. AD Vagos will meet higher ranked Olivais (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Carnide will play against G.S.C. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
