Regular Season Round 20: Bakken - Svendborg 83-75

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Risskov. Second ranked Bakken faced 4th ranked Svendborg. Host Bakken (16-3) defeated guests from Svendborg (11-9) 83-75. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Svendborg won third quarter 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Svendborg 46-34 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Ryan Evans (202-90, college: Wisconsin) contributed with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. DR Congolese-Canadian guard Myck Kabongo (190-92, college: Texas) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points in the effort for Svendborg. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 16-3 record having just six point less than leader Randers. Svendborg at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Bakken will play against Horsens IC (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Svendborg will play against the league's leader Randers and hopes to get back on the winning track.
