Regular Season Round 19: Petkim - Yalova Bld 75-61

TBL top team - Socar Petkim (15-4) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Yalova Bld (8-11) 75-61. They outrebounded Yalova Bld 42-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Hakan Yapar (202-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) answered with 17 points and the other American import forward Shaquille Goodwin (206-94, college: Memphis) added 6 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Yalova Bld. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Socar Petkim have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-4 record, which they share with Fethiye. Yalova Bld at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Socar Petkim is looking forward to face Konyaspor (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Yalova Bld will play against Bornova Bld and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
