We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Kaunas where 9th ranked Vilniaus KM II (6-11) was rolled over by tenth ranked Zalgiris II (6-12) 88-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Zalgiris II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Zalgiris II forced 19 Vilniaus KM II turnovers and outrebounded them 53-25 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Zalgiris II looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Erikas Stulpinas (-3) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Swingman Paulius Dembinskas (195-2) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Rokas Jaseliunas (178-2) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ignotas Razanas (178-2) added 13 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris II maintains tenth position with 6-12 record. Loser Vilniaus KM II keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Zalgiris II will again meet at home higher ranked Vilniaus KM II (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vilniaus KM II will have a break next round.
